A meteorologist shows off a typical weather station installed by the Kenya Meteorological Department. This one is in Muranga County, just north of Nairobi, and captures data not only for rainfall, but also for humidity and minimum and maximum temperatures. It’s situated next to a government-​run radio station called Kangema RANET, built to inform the community on farming practices and weather advisories.
